Welcome to the Portail des Nations

Opening to the public in March 2026

As the future visitors’ centre of the United Nations in Geneva, the Portail des Nations will open its doors to the public in March 2026. Located at the entrance of the Palais des Nations, this new unique space aims to bring to life and promote the understanding of multilateralism, as well as the role and work of the United Nations through an immersive experience. More than just a visitors’ centre, it is an open door to the world and to the major challenges of our time — a place for learning and civic engagement.

Multilateralism and UN Geneva

Discover the essential role of the United Nations and its specialized agencies based in Geneva: an insight into the day-to-day work carried out by the Member States to tackle together major global challenges.

Conceived, developed and managed by the Fondation Portail des Nations for and in consultation with UN Geneva, the Portail des Nations is the result of a strong vision championed by its president, Ivan Pictet: “to enable everyone to understand the fundamentals of multilateralism and the role and work of the United Nations family in Geneva.”
